SN54ACT14, SN74ACT14 HEX SCHMITT-TRIGGER INVERTER SCAS557E – DECEMBER 1995 – REVISED JANUARY 2000 D D D Inputs Are TTL-Voltage Compatible EPIC (Enhanced-Performance Implanted CMOS) 1-µm Process Package Options Include Plastic Small-Outline (D), Shrink Small-Outline (DB), and Thin-Shrink Small-Outline (PW) Packages, Ceramic Chip Carriers (FK) and Flatpacks (W), and Standard Plastic (N) and Ceramic (J) DIPs SN54ACT14 . . . J OR W PACKAGE SN74ACT14 . . . D, DB, N, OR PW PACKAGE (TOP VIEW) 1A 1Y 2A 2Y 3A 3Y GND description These Schmitt-trigger devices contain six independent inverters. They perform the Boolean function Y = A. Because of the Schmitt action, they have different input threshold levels for positive-going (VT+) and for negative-going (VT–) signals. 1 14 2 13 3 12 4 11 5 10 6 9 7 8 VCC 6A 6Y 5A 5Y 4A 4Y 1Y 1A NC VCC 6A SN54ACT14 . . . They also have a greater noise margin than conventional inverters. 4 SN54ACT14 is characterized for operation over the full military temperature range of –55°C to 125°C. The SN74ACT14 is characterized for operation from –40°C to 85°C.
