When pressing any key, the PC output pin will keeps on a high level. If none of keys is pressed within 2 seconds, the PT8A992 will shut down automatically and no level output on the PC pin. On the other hand, if any of keys is kept pressed for 4 minutes, the PT8A992P will also shut down to save battery power. Each trigger pin is triggered by corresponding bit of data in format of “1”. The data string is 18-bit and divided to four segments, i.e., Start Code, Data Code, Parity Code and End code, where Start Code = 11110. Two over-current protection pins VT1 and VT2 are used for current limit in accordance with the toy safety standard HD271. They act to shut down the output level if the input voltage keeps more than 0.095VCC for 3 seconds.
