NetSOLO®
NetSOLO®
Description
NetSOLO® is a peer-to-peer, token-ring, self-regenerating
network using the 7100 Series fire alarm control panel to
provide the highest degree of reliability, flexibility, and
expandability. A NetSOLO application can consist of up to
64, 7100 Series controls and provides a wide range of
stand-alone, “regional” and network-wide programming
options.
Network Features
Each 7100 fire alarm control panel within the network will
have an Intelligent Network Interface module (INI-7100)
mounted in its cabinet. An INI-7100 module is easily connected to its 7100 Basic System Module (BSM) via a plugin ribbon cable. A DIP switch on the INI-7100 module is
used to set the address the 7100 Series fire alarm control
panel will occupy on the network.
Two types of INI-7100 modules are available. The INI7100-UTP module (unshielded, twisted-pair) provides terminal connections to 16 or 18 AWG conventional copper
wire. The INI-7100-FO (fiber-optic) accommodates fiberoptic cable, ideal for connections running outside between
structures, as well as conventional wire.
Each INI-7100 module has the ability to regenerate the
network’s signal allowing maximum distances of up to
3,000 feet between each node. In the case of fiber-optic, a
signal loss of up to 8 dB can be tolerated within any one
segment of the network.
NetSOLO can be wired Style 4, Style 6 or Style 7 for maximum survivability. In the event of the loss of communication, each 7100 control panel has the ability to revert to its
own local programming.
Each 7100 Series fire alarm control panel retains all the
features of a standard 7100 panel, providing two signaling
line circuits, supporting up to 394 analog/addressable
devices, two notification appliance circuits, etc.
In addition, the network can be divided into regions. Each
region can contain one or more 7100 panels.
NetSOLO
Features
• IBC Seismic Certified.
• Peer-to-peer, token-ring, regenerative network operating at 625K baud.
• Up to 64, nodes in one network.
• Built-in isolation provides Style 4, Style 6 and Style 7
wiring.
• Two versions of INI-7100 module available using either
copper wire (INI-7100-UTP) or both copper wire and
fiber-optic cable (INI-7100-FO).
• Each node regenerates the signal to extend the
network another 3,000 feet (914.4 m) of wire length or
allows another 8 dB signal loss per fiber-optic segment
(8 dB loss max.).
• Each 7100 Series fire alarm node supports up to 99
local programming groups.
• NetSOLO provides up to 125 network-wide programming groups.
• All 7100 features available, such as:
- 63 programmable codes.
- Cross-zone programming between individual
addresses or between groups.
- Output modules can be assigned to up to ten (10)
groups.
- Sequential restart delay.
- Pre-action deluge (requires optional MCOM).

Description (Continued)
Wiring Specifications
Annunciation of events within a particular region can be
limited to just the alphanumeric LCD displays of the 7100
systems that are members of that region.
3,000 ft. (914.4m) max. between nodes using 16-18
AWG unshielded, twisted-pair copper wire.
Fiber-optic cable: Up to 200 microns (optimized for
62.5/125 microns) -8 dB loss (max.) between nodes.
This is useful for multiple-building applications, for example, where each building would constitute its own region.
Any 7100 Series fire alarm control panel in a network can
be designated as a global annunciator to annunciate
events from all network regions.
The integral DACT on the 7100-2D can report events to a
central station from an individual panel within the network,
from any panel within a region, or serve as a global DACT
for the entire NetSOLO. (See P/N 9020-0466 for details).
