Product Outline
ROHM ’s dual-wavelengt h lase r diod e was designe d for DV D an d navigatio n system s expose d to hars h
environments, such as in cars. An original structure is utilized for low current operation and stable operation up
to 85˚C . The package feature s a CAN-type structure with a seale d glass window, providing a high degre e of
reliability under virtually any environment.
New waveguide enables low current operation
High temperature operation (85˚C)
An optically transparent real index guide is utilized to minimize loss due to
light absorption, allowing operation with minimal current.
The proprietary structure ensures stable operation up to 85˚C, reducing
operating current by 44% and 43% over conventional DVD and CD laser
diodes, respectively.
