Capable of switching up to four antennas between Tx and Rx, the new UPG2181T5R was developed specifically for maximizing CPE flexibility and data rates. Available now from California Eastern Labs, it features high power handling capability, high isolation, low insertion loss, and broadband operation to 3.8GHz. It also features an on-board CMOS decoder that permits switching between eight Tx and Rx states using only three control inputs. The UPG2181T5R also provides internal 50Ω non-reflective port termination. This means that when the switch is busy in the receive mode, the idle transmit ports are automatically connected to a 50Ω load instead of being left as open circuits, which helps to improve stability. Typical specifications include: Operating Frequency: To 3.8 GHz Control Voltage: Insertion Loss: 0.8 dB @ 2.3 – 2.7 GHz 1.0 dB @ 3.3 – 8.0 GHz P1dB – Tx: +40 dBm @ +3.0 Vcont P1dB – Rx: +35 dBm @ +3.0 Vcont Switching Speed: +3.0 / 0 V 250 ns The UPG2181T5R is housed in NEC’s 20-pin RoHS-compliant T5R package. At just 2.5mm x 3.5mm and 0.6mm in profile, its size can help designers tasked with miniaturizing their designs. The UPG2181T5R is in stock and available now from California Eastern Laboratories. To help speed circuit design, CEL also offers evaluation boards for this switch through its network of sales offices as well as from Mouser Electronics. For a data sheet, visit www.cel.com.
