ENGINEERING CONSIDERATIONS (NOT FOR FIELD REPRESENTATIVE'S USE):
Use - For use only in (or with) complete equipment where the
acceptability of the combination is determined by Underwriters Laboratories
Inc.
Special Considerations - The following items are considerations that
were used when evaluating this product.
*
USR/CNR indicates investigation to the U.S. and Canadian (BiNational) Standard for Safety of Information Technology Equipment,
Including Electrical Business Equipment, CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 60950-00

The component was submitted and tested for a maximum manufacturer’s
recommended ambient (Tmra) of 50°C.
The equipment is: For building-in, Class I (earthed), intended for
use on a TN power system.
Conditions of Acceptability - When installed in the end-product,
considerations shall be given to the following:
1.*
This component has been judged on the basis of the required spacings
in the Standard for Information Technology Equipment, Including
Electrical Business Equipment, CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 60950-00
UL 60950,
Third Edition.
2.
The products were tested on a 20 A branch circuit. If used on a
branch circuit greater than this, additional testing may be
necessary.
3.
The need for conducting leakage current tests is to be determined as
part of the end-product evaluation.
4.
This power supply has only been evaluated for use in pollution degree
2 environment.
5.
The output connectors have not been evaluated for field connections
and are only intended for connection to mating connectors of internal
wiring inside the end-use machine. The acceptability of these and
the mating connectors relative to secureness, insulating materials
and temperature shall be considered.
6.*
This power supply shall be properly bonded to earth in the end-use
product as this unit was investigated for Class I construction as
defined in UL 60950. The bonding terminal has not been investigated
as protective earthing terminal. An additional evaluation shall be
made if the power supply is intended for use in other than Class I
equipment.
7.
The secondary outputs of this power supply are considered SELV and
non-energy hazardous energy levels.

8.
This power supply has been evaluated for use in a 25°C and a 50°C
ambient. An additional evaluation should be made if the power supply
is intended to be used in an elevated ambient.
9.*
All power supplies, except Models GLC40-3.3 thru GLC40-5 comply with
the Limited Power Source requirement in Clause 2.5 of UL 60950.

4.
Maximum Continuous Power is 40 Watts - total of all outputs (see note 3 below).
Maximum ambient temperature is 50°C.
Model SP1723 Maximum Continuous Output Power is 15 Watts.
GLC40 models may be followed by suffix –V for optional Output #1 Voltage Adj. Pot.
APPLICABLE REQUIREMENTS
CAN/CSA Standard C22.2 No. 60950-00 - Information Technology Equipment
REVISION: L
Added all models from 3.3 thru 48 V on the GLC40 Single-Output Series, added optional Output #1 Voltage Adj. Pot
(– V suffix) to GLC40 models, updgraded certification of all models to CSA Std. C22.2 No. 60950-00, 3rd Edition, and made
minor corrections to the report. No tests were performed due to tests already performed on the series.
