CPI’s VSX3614 Solid State Power Amplifiers are rock-solid, highly-efficient and easy to maintain. The VSX3614 Solid State Power Amplifier is designed for use in radar applications and cover the 8.8 – 9.6 GHz frequency band. Gallium nitride transistors are combined into 900 W bricks which are air cooled. The 900 W bricks can be power-combined using waveguide combiners for higher power transmitters. Optimized for Pulsed Radars This amplifier utilizes GaN transistors to provide high gain, high efficiency and excellent pulse fidelity. The result is excellent AM/PM, phase-noise and spectral regrowth performance. This amplifier is compliant to NTIA regulatory requirements for this frequency with the appropriately shaped input pulse. •• Solid Power Amplifiers Amplifiers• •Integrated IntegratedMicrowave Microwave Assemblies Solid State State Power Assemblies ••Receiver ControlComponents Components• •Transmitters Transmitters • Amplifiers Receiver Protectors Protectors •• Control • Amplifiers •• Modulators Magnetrons• •Crossed CrossedField FieldAmplifiers Amplifiers Modulators •• Magnetrons • Ring Loop Loop Traveling TravelingWave WaveTubes Tubes• •Power PowerCouplers Couplers Beverly Microwave Division www.cpii.com/bmd X-Band GaN Solid State Power Amplifier - VSS3614 Frequency Range Specifications 8.8 to 9.6 GHz Saturated Peak RF Output Typical Pulse Width 900 W 1 to 100 µsec Maximum Pulse Droop 0.6 dB Maximum Duty Cycle 10% Output Power Flatness Across Frequency range Nominal Small Signal Gain 1 dB 28 dB Maximum Input VSWR 1.5:1 Maximum Output VSWR 1.5:1 Harmonic Output -35 dBc -110 dBc/Mhz Maximum Interpulse Thermal Noise Noise Power Density -100 dBc into a 100 MHz bandwidth NTIA Compliance With appropriately shaped input pulse. 100 nsec PW, 1 kHz PRF Specifications Prime Power 42 VDC @ 9.5 Amps Ambient Temperature -30C to +50C operating Relative Humidity 100% non-condensing Altitude 30,000 feet (9.14km) operating 70,000 feet (21.34km) non-operating Shock and Vibration Ruggedized for harsh environments Cooling Forced air RF Input Connection SMA female RF Output Connection Type N female RF Output and VSWR Monitor Control connector Dimensions (width) Dimensions (height) 6 in (15.24cm) Plus connectors 2 in (50.8cm) Dimensions (depth) 11.5 in (29.21 cm) Weight 10 lbs.
