CPI BMD’s solid state power amplifiers are reliable, highly-efficient and easy to maintain. The VSC3645 solid state power amplifiers are designed for use in maritime surveillance and weather radar transmitters and cover the 5.2 – 5.9 GHz frequency band. GaN transistors are combined into a 4.2 kW output and are air cooled. These modules can be power-combined using waveguide combiners to achieve the higher power levels required for various radars. •• Solid Power Amplifiers Amplifiers• •Integrated IntegratedMicrowave Microwave Assemblies Solid State State Power Assemblies ••Receiver ControlComponents Components• •Transmitters Transmitters • Amplifiers Receiver Protectors Protectors •• Control • Amplifiers •• Modulators Magnetrons• •Crossed CrossedField FieldAmplifiers Amplifiers Modulators •• Magnetrons • Ring Loop Loop Traveling TravelingWave WaveTubes Tubes• •Power PowerCouplers Couplers Applications: • Maritime and defense radars • High performance weather radars Beverly Microwave Division C-Band GaN 4.2 kW Pulsed Solid State RF Power Amplifier Module - VSC3645 Frequency range Specifications Maximum saturated peak RF output Typical pulse width Maximum pulse droop Maximum duty cycle 5.2 to 5.9 GHz 4.2 kW 1 to 100 µsec 0.5 dB 10% Output power flatness across frequency range Nominal small signal gain 50 dB Stability 65 dB Maximum output VSWR Maximum harmonic output Maximum interpulse thermal noise Noise power density Pulse repetition frequency NTIA Compliance ±1 dB 1.5:1 -40 dBc -165 dBm/Hz -100 dBc in a 100 MHz bandwidth To 1.2 KHz Compliant for a radar of this frequency – with customer pulse shaping as required.
