Description Function and application The DIM PICO sensor controls brightness at the workplace and in offices to increase comfort and save energy. DIM PICO The sensor is integrated in individual lamps and is connected directly to ECGs with a 1...10 V interface. Function The sensor measures the brightness in the area requiring control for the purpose of keeping the brightness value constant at an adjustable setpoint by adding artificial light to daylight when necessary. As the amount of daylight increases, artificial lighting is reduced. Construction A B The sensor is made up of the following components: • Bulb clip (A) • Light sensor (B) • Cover (C) C 1…10 V Light sensor Fitting instructions Mounting Safety instructions The sensor must only be installed and put into operation by a qualified electrician. The applicable safety regulations and German accident prevention regulations must be observed. WARNING! Exposed, live cables or damaged housing. Danger of electric shock! • Only work on the sensor when it is deenergized. CAUTION! Destruction of the sensor and other devices through incorrect mounting! • Only use ECGs with a 1...10 V interface. • Take note of leakage and creepage distances when laying cables. Adjusting the setpoint for the brightness Fitting (cont.) Note: • Make the setting while there is a low level of daylight. • Do not cover the sensor during adjustment. • During a function check, ensure that there is a sufficient distance to avoid incorrect luminance measurements. Connect the sensor. In screw terminals, replace the soldered ends with wire end sleeves. Close the cover. Operate the lamp for approx. 30 minutes until the luminous flux has stabilised. Open the cover until dimming begins. Turn the cover back slightly. Transfer the setting to other sensors, if necessary, with the aid of the housing markings.
