Field-Selectable
Mass Notification Devices
Description
System Sensor SpectrAlert® Advance offers a variety of
devices designed for mass notification, including plain
devices for non-fire applications, amber lens strobes and
speaker strobes, alert printed devices and color lens
attachments.
System Sensor SpectrAlert Advance offers a wide range of
mass notification devices, including plain non-fire printed
devices, amber lens strobes and speaker strobes, alert
printed devices and color lens strobe devices. The SWALERT, SWH-ALERT and SPSW-ALERT strobes and
speaker strobes are designed with an amber colored lens
mounted in a white housing to allow visual signaling for
mass notification in compliance with ANSI/UL1638 – Standard for General Signaling Visible Appliances.
The SW-ALERT, SWH-ALERT and SPSW-ALERT amber
lens strobes and speaker strobes provide simple installation and instant compatibility with SpectrAlert Advance synchronized systems. Additional ALERT models are available
with clear lenses that can be used with color lens strobe
attachments to meet requirements for a range of mass notification applications. Furthermore, SpectrAlert Advance
includes a wide variety of non-fire printed devices, including indoor and outdoor strobes, horn strobes and speaker
strobes.
As part of the SpectrAlert Advance line, all System Sensor
mass notification devices include innovative features
designed to increase product versatility and save time and
money. For example, a plug-in design simplifies installation
and reduces ground faults; a shorting spring on the mounting plate tests wiring continuity to speed installation and
protect devices from damage; and field-selectable settings
enable installers to quickly set each device to meet application requirements.

box. SpectrAlert Advance speaker strobes shall mount to a
4 x 4 x 21/8-inch back box. A universal mounting plate
shall be used for mounting ceiling and wall products.
The notification appliance circuit wiring and amplifier wiring
shall terminate at the universal mounting plate. Also, SpectrAlert Advance products, when used with the Sync.Circuit™ Module accessory, shall be powered from a noncoded notification appliance circuit output and shall operate on a nominal 12 or 24 volts. When used with the
Sync.Circuit Module, 12-volt-rated notification appliance
circuit outputs shall operate between 9 and 17.5 volts; 24volt-rated notification appliance circuit outputs shall operate between 17 and 33 volts. Indoor SpectrAlert Advance
products shall operate between 32 and 120 degrees Fahrenheit from a regulated DC or full-wave rectified unfiltered
power supply. Strobes, horn strobes and speaker strobes
shall have field-selectable candela settings, including 15,
15/75, 30, 75, 95, 110, 115, 135, 150, 177 and 185.
Strobe
The strobe shall be a System Sensor SpectrAlert Advance
Model _______ Listed to UL 1971(clear lens strobes) and
shall be approved for fire protective service or shall be
approved for fire protective service as listed in ANSI/UL
1638 (amber lens strobes). The strobe shall be wired as a
primary-signaling notification appliance and comply with
