2500 PG Unitwall™
A Unitized Solution
the Way You Want it
Cathedral Place, Milwaukee, WI
Architect: Solomon, Cordwell, Buenz, Chicago, IL
Glazing Contractor: Lurie Glass, Milwaukee, WI
Today's fast paced construction schedules demand it all – high quality,
fast installation, simplified fabrication, superior performance and
design flexibility. As budgets continue to tighten and on-site space or
skilled labor become more scarce, Kawneer’s unitized solutions
balance the need for rapid close-in with design aesthetics, durability
and structural integrity. Kawneer’s 2500 PG Unitwall™ is a unitized
solution engineered to meet these criteria and more. It is offered in
a wide range of options that can be customized to each project.
Whether you prefer stock length, fabricated or pre-assembled and
glazed – this is a unitized solution, the way you want it.
Economy
2500 PG Unitwall™ is customizable to meet the unique conditions
of each project. It is available in stock lengths, fabricated or
pre-assembled and glazed – offering the flexibility to meet a range
of budgets, worker availability and timelines.
• With stock lengths, glazing contractors can benefit from the
flexibility of providing fabrication and pre-glazing under controlled
conditions in their own shop.
• Factory fabricated units can help meet tight construction
schedules when there is a lack of necessary manpower
or equipment.

• The ideal option to ease timeline pressures, pre-assembled and
glazed units ensure quality control and increased productivity
for almost any size or configuration.
Unitized construction accelerates installation, reducing field labor
costs. The system is quickly installed on site with little disruption to
existing tenants or to the surrounding area. Rapid installation makes
2500 PG Unitwall™ ideal for new or remodel projects, particularly in
urban areas or where space is limited. In addition, shop fabrication
facilitates the sorting and recycling of scrap without littering the
construction site. With its many advantages, Kawneer’s 2500 PG
Unitwall™ allows glazing contractors to competitively bid on bigger
projects and take their business to the next level.
Performance
For today's energy-conscious building owners, a continuous thermal
separator is incorporated in 2500 PG Unitwall™. This conserves energy
by reducing heat gain / loss. 2500 PG Unitwall™ also offers a back pan
option to hold insulation in the spandrel area.
With complete Kawneer engineering documentation and support,
specifying this product is seamless. Fully tested for thermal and acoustic
properties, 2500 PG Unitwall™ ensures the kind of performance that
reduces building operating costs and pleases occupants.
Aesthetics
2500 PG Unitwall™ offers four glazing options: four-sided captured,
two-sided SSG (vertical or horizontal) and four-sided SSG. As an
additional bonus on two and four-sided captured glazing options, the
continuous thermal separator design, with pressure plates and
covers, allows different colors on exterior and interior. 2500 PG
Unitwall™ has a 2-1/2" (63.5 mm) profile and a clean appearance
without sightline build up. The result is maximum adaptability for any
design challenge.
For the Finishing Touch
Permanodic® Anodized finishes are available in Class I and Class II in
seven different colors.
Painted Finishes, including fluoropolymer that meet or exceed
AAMA 2605, are offered in many standard choices and an unlimited
number of specially-designed colors.
Solvent-free powder coatings add the “green” element with high
performance, durability and scratch resistance that meet the
standards of AAMA 2604.

WIND LOAD CHARTS
Mullions are designed for deflection limitations in accordance with AAMA TIR-A11 of L/175 up to 13'-6" and L/240 +1/4"
above 13'-6". These curves are for mullions WITH HORIZONTALS and are based on engineering calculations for stress
and deflection. Allowable wind load stress for ALUMINUM 15,152 psi (104MPa), STEEL 30,000 psi (207MPa.). Charted
curves, in all cases are for the limiting value. If the design wind load is determined through the analytical procedures
of ASCE/SEI 7-10 or earlier editions, the load shall be based on the nominal loads used in allowable stress design. A
4/3 increase in allowable stress has not been used to develop these curves. For special situations not covered by these
curves, contact your Kawneer representative for additional information.

When mullion is used in a SSG application, curves become straight due to structural silicone limits, represented by
dashed lines on chart. *Charts are for typical spans, not beginning or ending spans. C/L of stack horizontal to be at
noted stool height above C/L of anchor.
Steel bar running from 6" above sill stack to 6" below anchor.
1/2" steel bar as shown running from 6" above stack to 6" below stack above (Unit height - 12").
SSG Structural Silicone Limit - Silicone joint contact is .625".

Horizontal or deadload limitations are based upon 1/8" (3.2), maximum allowable deflection at the center of an intermediate horizontal
member. The accompanying charts are calculated for 1" (25.4) thick insulating glass or 1/4" (6.35) thick glass supported on two setting
blocks placed at the loading points shown. Maximum allowable stress for aluminum is 15,152 PSI (104MPa).
