The AFS2400 and AFS4800 power shelves are designed to house Artesyn standard
AFE1200 series front-end power supplies. The shelves mount into standard 19 inch
racks. The power shelves accept full range (85 to 264VAC) AC power and deliver a
regulated DC bus voltage generated from the AFE1200 power supplies. The power
shelf provides input filtering and protection, and individual 20 Amp circuit breakers for
each AFE1200 power supply are provided on the front end of the shelf. An output bus
bar on the rear of the unit is provided for distribution of the main output to system
payload. Control, diagnostic and protection signals and the auxiliary output from
AFE1200 power supplies are routed through the power shelf to a parallel interface
connector on the rear of the unit. Clearance is provided on the rear of the unit to
maintain adequate airflow and cooling of the AFE1200 power supplies mounted within
the shelf.
